SPT: Edit That

Sometimes I look at an unflattering photo of myself and think:
I don't look like that!
(Then the self-doubt comes in: Do I?)
/
/
It turns out I could benefit from Self Portrait Tuesday in my daily morning beauty routine. I gave today's photo a couple of tries, and then realized that the nude lips thing doesn't work for me like it does for some people. (Edit in red lipstick) The next few pictures were screaming: "Volume! You need volume!" (Edit in hairspray at the roots) It might be a good idea to keep a camera in the bathroom because the mirror isn't showing me everything I need to know. (Do I hear a resolution to take more SPTs?)
/

I just discovered a new Picasa trick: erasing the circles under my eyes. (I need to learn how to do this with make-up.)

And while I'm thinking about photo-editing, here's a preview of how I'd like to do next year's Christmas card photo: an all-white snowy background, bright colored clothes, then max out the highlights & warm up the color temperature in Picasa.

Our winter worlds are so starkly different. We have been enjoying a little tropical chill though, Hurricane season.

Oh Barbara!

You should look at yourself through the eyes of your ever-jealous little sister for once. All self doubt would be instantly and permanently removed.

For starters you NEVER take a bad SPT. And very cool idea for next year!

I've never heard of Picasa...guess I have to check that out. I love what you did to that photo on the bottom. And, for the record, you ALWAYS look gorgeous in your spt's.

Just to be clear: I take LOTS of bad self-portraits, but they never make to Self-Portrait Tuesday!

You always look great in every picture I've ever seen on your blog.

The thing is, you look good in real life, too. This picture is really beautiful!

I love what you did with the picture of the girls, too. I've heard so much about Picasa, but haven't played with it. I have Photoshop Elements on my computer, but I feel like it's so difficult that I never ever use it.

Isn't funny what we see with the naked eys is so different from what we see with a camera.

I need to get that photo editing for myself. Love the photos and the editing. Great job. Cute Christmas card idea.

You are a beauty Barb, you don't need to be photoshopped one bit!
That sledding picture looks like winter wonderland!

Oh yeah, I love Picasa's new blemish correction thing. I totally removed a zit from my chin the other day -- wish it worked that way in real life!

I love the genius thing you did in Picasa...I can't wait for next year's card. I'm going to figure out how to do that in my new photo editing program.

As for your self-portraits...you are the loveliest SPTer out there...and I'm not just saying that because I'm in love with you.

Cute pictures all around--it is fun to play (and maybe learn!) a bit in those photo editing programs. They open up so many creative new ways to see.

Picassa or no picassa that is a stunning picture.

Seriously.

The Christmas card idea for next year made my heart leap! The smiles on their faces! The all white background! The brightly colored clothes! It's genius and recalls a Normal Rockwell picture for me.

P.S. you comment on 2 clever about Christmas made me laugh out loud.

You took the words right off of my keyboard!

The camera tells me so much more than the mirror, and that's really saying something. I noticed your lovely new profile pic on a comment, you are brilliant with the SPs!

Love your sledding pic as well, their expressions are perfect.
