Unbloggable

I know we all pick and choose what we share in our blogs. At least I know that I do. For me usually an experience goes unrecorded because I don't spare the time to write about it immediately, and I'm not a good back tracker. But this week was different.

This week I have been preoccupied with activities and thoughts I am keeping to myself, which created an amazing blogging writer's block for me. I've learned that I can't blog about what I'm not thinking about.

I found my cure in my Sunday thoughts journal, which was a very appropriate place for the happenings of this week anyhow.

So what else have I been up to? Well, we took down our Christmas decorations on New Year's Day. This is the longest we have left decorations up ever (and by a long shot)!

Today we are cooking a turkey dinner for ourselves because we always have Christmas and Thanksgiving at one of our parent's homes, and thereby deny ourselves delightful turkey dinner leftovers. (#98)

Besides that, my children will return to school tomorrow. We've had a wonderfully long school break, which has provided for me many days of sleeping in. I'm feeling refreshed and ready to move ahead.
.
Lastly, I was very sorry to miss the January 1st SPT challenge, especially considering I have enjoyed SPT so much, and I have a strong favorite from 2007:

Well, I have definately noticed your absence and been wondering what was going on in your life that was keeping you away from your computer. Glad you found some time today. And I love that SPT too. I thought it was interesting that this was your favourite becasue, didn't you say you don't really like black and white?

PS: Did you ever find film for that camera?

I still prefer color photos most of the time, but this b&w really worked for me here. And I just went downtown a few days ago to a store that carries old styles of film, but I got there 15 minutes after closing, so I'll have to try again.

Barb, I've missed you, too, but agree with you...when private thoughts and things occupy my mind there's nothing for the blog. Welcome back.

You were such a good SPT'er. I loved looking at all of your pictures...however in the world did you choose with such good ones? I like this one, too.

I've been wondering about you, too. I hope your preoccupation this week has been good, just personal, and not something you've been upset about.

Emerson goes back to school tomorrow (and yes it was SO weird to have the others back on Thursday -- it threw my whole week to have it feel like Monday on Thursay), and I finally feel like I am ready for a new start to the old routine.

I have no idea how you chose a favorite SPT. (though that one is so nice.) Yours were all so great. You really perfected the process, I think.

Boy isn't that the truth! Life sometimes gets in the way of a good sanitized blog and it is a bummer.

I have turkey dinner on the menu this month too. I can't get over feeling cheated out of delicious Thanksgiving leftovers.

We still have another week off school. I am liking the long break.
I made leftovers before Thanksgiving so I could come home to them from my husbands Grandpa's

I'm glad you are back! I have missed your posts and hope all is well with you!

I remember that post. You are one of my favorite SPT'ers! Is that a word?

I was sorta sad to send them off this morning. We had a wonderful break as well.

I have to admit I've been stalking your blog as well, wondering where you are. Amy and I were just talking the other day about how we needed "secret blogs" to hide "the true story" sometimes.

Love your SPT.

It's good to have a place to record the events and thoughts you deem "unbloggable". I agree that it must have been hard to choose one favorite from all of your great spts!

Yeah, I've been known to hand-write frustrations in a notebook, then rip up the pages. Can't get more private than that!

Welcome back!

I'm so frustrated because half the time I comment on blogger blogs, I go back days later and the comments are clean gone.

You are my SPT (and creative) idol, so I agree with everyone wondering how you even managed to choose a favorite! I'm planning to be a more dedicated SPTer this year. I truly love the exploration involved.

I hope all is well for you!

I know what that's like. Not being able to blog because you are preoccupied with what you can't blog about.
We took our Christmas decorations down New Year's Eve and that's the longest I've ever had mine up too. So instead of celebrating, we spend the day cleaning. Which was nice to wake up at the first of the year to a clean house.
And I agree with Amy. SPT (and creative) idol. How ever did you choose a favorite?

I've been wondering where you've been and had chalked your absence up to holiday busyness, but now I'm intrigued about your unbloggable thoughts. We all have those so I understand the need to keep those to yourself.

That's a great SPT flashback.

I think that SPT post was one of the first posts of yours that I ever read.

Well, you sound quite ready for the new year. I hope it is a great one!
