Sunrise, sunset

I'm not sure how much longer this will last! For years now we have eaten our winter dinners by candlelight. The kids have loved it, and with daylight savings this past week it has been dark enough for candlelight family dinners again.
.

Chloe was the one who remembered the tradition and got the candles out.

Carmen still enjoys the candlelight dinners, but the older two have outgrown them. Now Jaclyn and Steven are being forced to endure a tradition they started for at least one more year, for Chloe's sake.

What a great tradition. And even though they'll roll their eyes, I'm so glad that Jaclyn and Steven will
'endure' it for Chloe's sake. I love the memories around a dinner table like that.

That looks so pretty with just the candles! I think we'd have a fire on our hands, or at least a few 2nd degree burns, if we did that. But I love how it looks, and the atmosphere it brings.

Every night?

Not every night, but as often as Steven and Jaclyn can stand it - maybe half the time.

You're never too old for candlelight dinners! So pretty. Maybe you can tell them how flattering candlelight is on the skin? Older kids might appreciate that...

What a cute tradition! W'll have to try it here! Your older kids smiles -show their less enthusiastic feelings on this tradition!

Those candles are so bright! This is a fun tradition -- you've got to do something to make that early darkness seem exciting. Jaclyn and Steven are good sports.

I love the tradition...even if it requires eye-rolling from the olders!

I had no idea! And Mark is wondering if your fire insurance covers this.

What a fun tradition! I do this every once in a while but not regularly. Something about firelight . . .

oh how fun...this has got to be a tradition worthy of following. It is funny I do have a pub table on my deck and I just recently put a table cloth and do have a candle/thingy in case of a late soiree....But i love love love the idea. It is just so enchanting

What's wrong with those pubescents? That is an awesome tradition. I'm totally going to have to try this! It would make our cold cereal seem so fancy.

PS I had to switch to a private blog because my family didn't like being displayed on the internet. I think it stinks because I miss people. email me if you want in kellysblog@sbcglobal.net

That's a great idea and tradition. We've never done that, but I'm sure the kids would love it.
