Creations

Today while Steven was away helping his team create their greatest victory to date (they won by 60 points) we girls did a little creating of our own.
g
I had planned on creating this apron for myself, but instead I made Valentines/Chineese New Year tokens for my Young Women:
g
g
Chloe made Valentines of her own. I'm not gonna say no to her taking the lead and making them herself.
g

g
Meanwhile, Carmen and I worked on her birthday party invitations. She cut sheets of craft foam in half length-wise:
g

g
Then we printed out the information on vellum:
g
g
And rolled them together to look like yoga mats:
g

g
(Best use for craft foam ever.)
g
After that I remembered that my YW secretary has been away caring for her mother, and that she missed our last couple of presidency meetings so I'd better make the New Beginnings invitations myself:
g

g
(Every YW task I complete these days feels like a nail in the coffin of my calling.)
g

g
And lastly I created dessert for tomorrow wearing my old apron because I didn't get any sewing done today.
g
(Ken's creation for today: friendships with basketball parents)
(Jaclyn's: a biology research report)

Sheesh. It seems like every blog I've visited tonight has featured some amazing burst of creativity. I need to get things together and do something cool.

Aimee's been making Valentines everyday for the past four or five days. My heart shaped hole punch has never had so much use.

The yoga mat invite was inspired.

I'd wear an apron over top of my apron if I had that one. I'd never want to get it dirty!

I want to know what you made with that can of Bird custard.

I'd like to know about that can of Bird custard, too, Barb! Do tell.

I love reading about your family's creativity. The pendants in the last post are darling and I think it fun that you used the whole box.

What great ideas for today, too.

"Nail in your coffin"-how do you feel about that? Is it a beautiful coffin after a long, happy stint or are you wishing it had lasted a little longer?

Love the apron. I've been eyeing some cute Amy Butler florals and am planning an apron for myself. The ruffle is cute.

I made traditional English Trifle: pound cake cubed, raspberries, Bird's custard. My kids have had trifle spin-offs with angelfood cake and chocolate and so on. I don't know if they'll like the original.

I saw the can of custard, and immediately started craving trifle, yum yum!
You really are so creative. I wish I had your ability to get sooo much accomplished.

Using the craft foam as yoga mats is a very clever idea!

I'm impressed with all the creativity going on at your house!

That apron! To die for. I love your fortune "cookies" as well. And the miniature yoga mats are terribly clever!

I love traditional trifle, but hardly ever make it. Maybe if we had Bird's custard, is that a good shortcut?

Bird's Custard -- I've never seen that. I love the can. Hope your trifle turned out good.

These are such great creations. I'm totally loving the yoga mat birthday invitations! Can't wait to see your finished apron.

Bird's Custard is English, and they actually use it when they make trifle. Yum.
