52 Blessings

Our new school campus!
/
This has been a long time coming, but my children are finally in their beautiful brand new school. Sadly our days of fundraising aren't over, we still need landscaping. For now the kids have to stick to the sidewalks at recess - luckily some large rotundas were paved and there is room for skipping ropes. Bonus blessing: my boy is old enough to stay out of the mud - something he was not capable of five years ago :-)
?

Our enormous *high school* sized gym.

(We will also continue fundraising for bleachers.)

The layout is clever with the stage opening to the gymnasium (obvious) as well as on the other side to the band room (brilliant).

In the elementary wings the halls are extra wide and accomodate counter height cupboards as well as tables down the middle. The extra space is absolutely luxurious.

The classrooms are equipped with Smart boards - a white board that is interactive with the teacher's computer. Technology is amazing.

And check out those brand spanking new lockers! But explain to me why the color white is ever used in a school?

Horay for no more mobile classrooms! The school looks great, but I do agree about the white lockers. They are probably trying to avoid looking dated in 10 years, (hello, orange lockers!)but white is a little too sterile.

What a school! If the fundraising involves chocolate, I'm always game.

What a beautiful school! New schools are so nice. The white lockers look like a janitor's nightmare to me.

Fancy schmancy! It looks nice and I agree about the fantasticness of bandroom/stage access to the gym. That will be an even better functioning room because of it.

Way to go with the fundraising!

What a gorgeous campus. I do have to agree with you on white. I wonder why not black or dark grey. That is impressive how much fund raising was done. Good luck with all the rest. How exciting for your kids!

That school is incredible! The gym and magic white boards sold me. Happy fundraising. And yeah, way too much white for youth. But it's beautiful now!

Hooray for new buildings. Alexis is in a new school this year and all the technology they put into it is fantastic. I just wish they had designed the pick-up/drop-off better. But hey, at least we don't have white lockers :). White because it looks so cool when it's new for that very first year.

It looks amazing! Was Jaclyn relieved to get in the new building before she moves on to high school?

Looks like a great new building. We got a new high school when I was in 10th grade. I got to spend a year in the old building, which had been through several earth quakes, collapsed once, and was about 100 years old. It was sad to move out, I thought. Good luck with the fund raising!

How great that they get to go to such a new school. Ours is very old and the technology seems about the same as when I went to school.

That is an amazing school! It is wonderful when they are so smartly designed (except maybe the white!). :)

We are looking forward to a new elementary next year. Most schools here are quite old so it is exciting!
