That's so random

I was tagged by Annalisa and Jenny to come up with eight random things about myself:

I have a one-way cell phone. I don't have problems making calls on it, just problems taking calls. Problems like I can't hear it ringing in the bottom of my purse, or I leave it at home, or the battery dies and I don't notice for 3 days. I'm pretty happy with my one-way cell phone, but some people find it annoying (Ken).

I hate being in the room when a balloon is popped. If I need to collapse balloons I use scissors and I cut a small hole near the knot to let the air leak out.

h

I store all the *sets* of toys we have in large rubbermaid containers: Brio trains, Fashion Polly's, Barbies, blocks, dinosaurs & zoo animals, and so on. Only one rubbermaid container can be open at a time, so when the kids want to play with Brio, the Barbies have to be put away first. Although, if you were to look in my basement right now I think you'd find a system failure.

h

My engagement ring has been uninsured, therefore off my finger and in a safe place, for more than a year. I need to get the errand done of having it reappraised - a good project for the Year of Barb.

I've done laser hair removal on my upper lip.

I like to go to sleep in a cold room and wake up in a warm room.

The first thing I notice about someone is their smile.

Getting up for early morning seminary is as hard for me now as it was 20 years ago.

I want a post about the routine of seminary. And are you taking turns or is it you driving? Are you waking up everyone else to have breakfast and scripture study or does everyone else sleep?:-)

I don't like balloons being popped either.

That picture of Freida is killing me!

You made me laugh about your cell phone. The rub around our house is that it beeps everytime someone calls and I miss it - which is most of the time - but it doesn't beep once, it beeps every five minutes letting me know I have a missed call. My phone is usually in the bottom of my purse and always a floor away when we want to turn it off. It's very annoying and quite funny to me, since it annoys Craig more than me. Anyway - I'm rambling - cute post Barb!

cute post, but the best part was the smiling fish picture. I love it.

I thought you would have been good at the early morning seminary thing. Surprising.

I've got some similar randoms. Like the cold room warm room one. And the balloon popping.
I love that you used a Frieda Kahlo painting for the lip hair one.

awww the fish! cute.

i too love my cool room/warm room. i don't like to be cold in the am-- just makes the whole process of getting up less fun.

oh and the phone-- i have a habit of leaving mine on vibrate and then can never find it.

I totally believe in one way cell phones. I hate being available wherever I am. I usually leave it in the car so that when it rings, I can't hear it.

Freida really wasn't very attractive, was she? Funny that you used that picture.

I like a cool room too but like to wake up cool too. My dad used to blast on the heat when he woke up at 5:30 am and my whole childhood would wake up sweating because I had so many darn blankets on my bed from sleeping cold!

Great list!

I hate balloons for that very reason. I never pop them either, I always cut a small hole like you do.

Love random post like this. The one way cell phone is hilarious although like Ken, Milo would find me quite annoying. He likes to answer the dumb thing.

I have the tub rule with our toys too. But I have you on the system failure, it hasn't happened all summer with being sick and not caring. The tornado is getting tackled soon!

When I was a kid, we would play a game at birthday parties where a bunch of baloons would be spread across the floor, and we would race in and sit on them to make them pop and see who could pop the most. I never liked that game. I much prefer the scissor method as well.

I love the rubbermaid container idea. Mike's kids have yet to grasp the concept of put that toy away before you take another one out. They can repeat the rule back to you, but putting it into action is altogether different!

That was a great random post. I relate to the cell phone.

"system failure", I love it! I think we have a lot of "system failures" around here, especially involving toys.

I'm glad I am not the only one who has a tupperware system in their home. I think some people think I am the toy natzi since I only allow "one" box of toys at a time.

Dig the fish :)

Cute post! Love the rubber maid Idea. I need to do something about those barbie & bratz. That seem to be scattered. I quite buying polly pocket a couple of years ago. I think that it is a ploy from the toy company to keep us replacing all those little piece and make them lots of money. We have had many tears when polly's first came out. Thinking though that the Rubber maind sounds like a good way to keep stuff picked up.

I get annoyed with Brett's one-way cellphone too. I do the same for balloons, I have the same system failure, don't wear my uninsured ring (but that's because a prong is worn down) and totally agree about the room for sleeping. I love the unibrow picture! Good luck with seminary. Ugh. I remember how hard that was.

I do the same thing with balloons and can't deal with being near them when they pop. One time I was transporting balloons to a party and one popped in side my car. It was deafening and scared the crap out of me!

That's crazy about your engagement ring. I wear an $8 ring I got from ebay, no worries here.

I want laser hair removal, but I want the full body package.

Love the photos! Early-morning seminary was the bane of my existence. I have so much respect for my mom getting up and driving me now that I am a mother! The one-way cell phone is cracking me up.
