Quotes

My niece just started herself a new blog for her quotes she appreciates and wants to share. Funny, I posted a quote earlier this week, and somehow felt restrained from posting more so soon. Why? If that's where I'm at then I should throw it out there! Thanks for the inspiration, Missy. Here's what I've been hanging on to:

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
-- Calvin Coolidge

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
(Leonard Cohen)

What you saw as falling apart was actually things falling into place…

I nabbed that quote off your blog last week and put it where I could see it daily for awhile. I'm glad you didn't squelch the desire to share more. Nothing like a good quote and you're full of them.

I am excessively fond of great quotes and am always interested in reading the ones that speak to people I care about.

I am very fond of great quotes as well. The second and third ones spoke particularly to me.
