The Film Camera (and a bonus)

.
On Saturday after Ken and the big kids ferried over to the Crypt trail head, Carmen, Chloe and I to the International Ferry down to Goat Haunt which is located at the Glacier Park end of Upper Waterton Lake.
.

.
The Canada/U.S. border cut into the forest.
.

.
The American end of the lake. From here it is possible to enter the United States through customs and backpack in to Glacier Park.
.

.
Chloe learned how to skip rocks and Carmen practised the skill further. The similar postures are an effort to keep the rock low as they throw it.
.

.
After we returned to the town of Waterton we hit the beach with floaties that we found in the shed of the cabin where we stayed.
.

.
Chloe prefered the tube - she had a hard time working the oars of the dinghy.
.
Monday:
.

.
Naturally, the kids weren't deterred by the murky water or the colder day or the wind. Steven flew ahead of the girls up the canyon - Ken hurried along the top to stop him and turn him around when we realized how far and fast he was going.
.

.
Chloe doesn't let a little cold water get the the way of her fun. Ever.
.

.
Jaclyn and Carmen found a small natural waterslide. The water was a little too high and murky for their usual longer one.
.
.
The bonus: Not from the film camera, from my Flip video camera.

Looks like you had fun. Never mind the fun of getting pictures developped - sometimes I miss that thrill.

Who's cabin did you use?

I love the picture of the canyon with the kids looking so tiny! A grand vista.

Looks like a great trip.

I can't tell from the pictures on line, but was there a quality difference in the prints?

This place looks so stunningly beautiful!

I wouldn't be a fan of the cold or the murky, but it does look like a fun place to play.

That is cool that you can cross the border and hike the glacier - sounds like fun! I am missing our roadtrips this year, but I know for a good cause...your fun photos remind me how much fun it is to get out! It looks very beautiful and a lot fun Barb!

I've got chills from just looking at the girls swimming in that cold water. (Still looks like fun though!)

My mom and I were just in Glacier a couple weeks ago. Just the southern portion of the park. Beautiful. The section of the park you were in looks like so much fun--great hikes! One of these days I'll post my Glacier pictures.

I am sure those photos don't do your vacation any justice. But, wow what an amazing site to see.

David had been looking up Waterton ever since he heard about your trip. It is now somewhere in his "future vacations" file. You live in a gorgeous land.

Coming back to comment more on this...but for now...do you have a Mac or PC? We just bought a video camera similar to a flip video and cannot download the videos to our Mac. It's madness. Curious if you had the same problem.
