We went on a field trip on Monday to the Queen Creek Olive Mill.
It was the first time I'd seen a real olive tree (and a cotton plant and a pomegranate tree).
They offer tours, retail shopping of their products, and a restaurant. Here's Carmen trying a Kalamata olive right off the tree during our tour. Keep in mind she loves Kalamata olives.
Tasting the flavoured olive oils and balsamic vinegars produced on site was much more pleasant.
Kelly already has chocolate and blood orange olive oil, and pomegranate balsamic vinegar. She and I each came away yesterday with strawberry balsamic vinegar and lemon olive oil.
Lunch was amazing. I wouldn't normally order an antipasti plate like this, but it best suited Chloe's diet restrictions and her preference not to order a salad, and I knew it would be too much food for her, so we shared. It was spectacular - Ken would have loved it. Sorry hon, maybe next time.
