When I drink milk I'm a skim milk girl. I don't drink it because it's low fat - I drink it because it tastes better! Skim milk doesn't coat my throat on the way down. I also like that it gets so much colder than 1% (or 2% or homogenized).

Christy (Ken's sister) calls skim milk *blue milk* partly because skim comes out of a jug with a blue label, and partly because she thinks that skim milk has a slightly blue tinge to it.

(looks white to me)

I've never been able to enjoy skim milk, or "water" as Craig likes to say! We are 1% milk drinkers here! I wish Quebec would package milk in jugs, it's all bags or cartons - talk about backwards! Love that cute shirt Barb! And guzzle, guzzle, guzzle!
We are a skim milk drinking family too. However, when family comes to visit we have to purchase 2% to avoid hearing the complaints.
We buy the 2% in our family...I wouldn't mind the skim milk but hubby has a problem with it!
Ooh way cool action SPT picture!
I like skim milk too--funny, I've always thought there was a blue tinge too.
We keep 1% on hand for our daughter.
That's hilarious, Barb. I've always thought of it as having a blue tinge as well! I'm not a milk drinker, but we buy 1%.
YUP - blueish murky water. Of course i've always been a milk lover...but I just can't go less than 1%. The adults drink the 1%, but the kids still get 2%...the extra fat is good for brain development (and none of them are overweight). At least you know i won't be chugging from your milk jug when i'm over to visit.
I think it's got a blue tinge, too, Barb! I love your guzzle shot and your fridge is so clean.
oh, how I miss it. My husband hates skim milk, but I love it, especially that it feels soo much colder!
It does have a blue tinge- and that is fine by me. I can't stand the thick stuff- and luckily I am the only milk drinker in the house as Kaylee has lactose free stuff. I do buy the thicker stuff when I know we need it for family though, and I always send it home with someone.
I had a roommate in college that would drink a glass of skim milk every night...WITH ICE IN IT! I would say, "Andrea, isn't watered down enough for ya? You have to go and put ice cubes in it, too?" I'm not a milk fan at all so I've never really noticed whether or not it looks blue. My hubby's a whole milk man so that's what we buy. (shhh...don't tell him i've been making it stretch by mixing non-fat dry milk with it when it starts getting low.)
think this might be the most original *blue* item of the day. i can't tell you when the last time was i drank a glass of milk...
love your shirt - is it red, or poppy?!?
Clever as always Barb!
Funny you like the taste of skim better. I wish I did. For some reason I prefer 1% I guess I enjoy a little thickness for my cookies :)
I buy skim too, but can't drink it. You always have great self-portaits!
I bought skim milk a week or so ago & my 4 yr old said "Mommy I think I accidently put water in my milk!" I had to laugh because I felt the same way...
That's Great that you love it!
I drink skim milk too, but I had to acquire the taste and I did it for weight reasons. My kids drink the whole milk because they need the fat, so we always have both in our house. Nothing in between!
I kind of think it has a blue tint too, but I usually just skip the milk altogether~ unless there's chocolate!
I drink skim milk too...I love this SPT, very creative!
I'm with you 100% on the skim milk! And I love your bright shirt.
I don't drink skim milk, but I do call milk the color of the lable. We drink Green Milk (1%)
Your picture from your last post could have been taken from my yard. We have had nothing but rain lately too, and have gotten several inches. Much needed inches!
P.S. Is Silk good? Must be if it's in your fridge. I'm curious, but scared to try it.
Amen sista! I fully agree! And I have to chuckle because so many of my friends/family call skim milk blue due to it's "bluish" tint...yeah, it's white to me too!
You have the most creative self portraits! Ever!
We have everything in our fridge. The older kids drink 2%, the baby drinks whole and hubby and I drink skim.
Skim looks blue to me too!
I love your blue-skim milk connection for spt! We grew up drinking 2% and thought anyone strange for drinking anything less. :) Now we're a 1% family (except the baby). I don't know if we can make the step down--the troops would probably revolt.
I can't stand any of them. But I do think skim milk is definitely BLUE.
I only like skim milk for the exact same reasons. I hate thick, cold milk!! Cute SPT once again Barb.
I'm not a milk girl at all. But when I have to have it, skim milk, super cold is all I can choke down. I think it looks bluish too. "Blue Milk", that's a good name for it. I might have to adopt that.
