Mother's Day morning as I headed downstairs for breakfast and presents (we don't do breakfast in bed - Ken thinks the idea is disgusting), anyhow, just before I went down Ken said to me, "I'm going to be interested in what Chloe says when you open the gift she chose for you. I don't know if there's a reason behind it or if it was just random." Hmmm.
I was delighted to open a new ice cream scoop from Chloe. I said, "Thank you so much for the new ice cream scoop, Coco." Steven answered for her, "It's not an ice cream scoop it's a cookie scoop!"
A-ha! I use a small cookie dough scoop for hands free cookie making. My new ice cream scoop is exactly the same shape as my cookie dough scoop, only 4 times larger!

"We've grown bigger, we need bigger cookies!"

Happy Mothers Day, Mom!

Right back at ya, kids!

Those are huge cookies. I didn't know kids gave gifts with subtle hints when they were only six. Apparently, her hint worked out for her!
Now that's a cookie after my own heart.. I would of thought it was a ice cream scooper too.. And what a good mom you already made cookies with it!
That is so cute! I just love gifts from kids and their reasoning behind it. Those are my kind of cookies!
Point well taken, Barb! How much longer did you have to increase the baking time?
Great idea Chloe!! I'm sitting here wondering why i didn't think of that before. She's one smart cookie.
Those cookies are huge, I guess I still have little ones, but a cookie like that would have them wired for a week, (and loving every minute of it)
Wow, look at al those chocolate chips in t hose cookies - they look amazing! cute photo below of chloe!
Oh my! Those are some serious looking cookies from a ginormous scoop. Love their logic, since they are getting bigger and all...
Jane: only 5 minutes more cooking time.
Christy: if you had a blog I would work really hard to leave you cute comments like you leave me!
I LOVE CHLOE!!! THat is the greatest response. She is so funny!
I'm a big cookie scoop fan myself, but definitely have nothing that size. The last picture made me smile. Yum!
HOLY. MOLY. Those are some giant yummy cookies! I love gifts that give back...what a smart "cookie" you have!
Okay, now *that* is cute! Clever gift, thoughtful child, and hey, they got cookies out of it. BIG cookies. Perfect!
Oh so cute! The cookies look good right about now. Love your smart kids.
That's so cute, and those cookies look so good! I love my cookie scoop. I've got the big one too. I use it to make cupcakes and muffins, but after seeing your awesome looking giant cookies, I think I'll use it for that too.
Nice! You've gotta love someone who can take a hint...
That is so funny! I love those big cookies, smart kids. :-)
Wow, I think I might just only eat one cookie, if I made them that big! What a good mommy you are to already have made wonderful, gigantic cookies with your gift!
LOVE IT!-
I love the thinking on this-
and that you made the cookies.
You will now probably always need to make at least 3 giant cookies whenever you make a batch!
Brilliant girl.
"Love and logic" at its finest.
All the other kids are wondering why they didn't think of this earlier.
Wow. That is an awesome scoop. Who wouldn't love a cookies as big as that?
That is seriously one of the coolest gifts. Really thoughtful- even if they were thinking about their cookies! You look fantastic!
Nice! I'm loving the size of those cookies. Good thinking Chloe, and great self-portrait Barb!
Chloe is hilarious. I love that she even thought of that. Steven's face in the cookie picture is also hilarious.
I had to laugh at Ken's disdain for breakfast in bed. So him.
That Chloe is a clever girl! Well done.
Now those are some cookies. They look like the professional ones! Yummy.
What a sweet, thoughtful, smart girl--so fun!
I don't use my "ice cream scoop" for ice cream--I've also made cookies with it--and use it for cupcake/muffin batter like jeanette mentioned.
Happy Mother's Day!
Cute! I use a 1/4 cup for my giant cookies - but an ice cream scoop is brilliant! I, too use a smaller scooper for my little cookies!
I love the hint and I love that you made your littles cookies with your gift!
I love it! Using a scoop for cookie dough is a great idea...using a huge scoop for huge cookies is an even better idea!!
Wow! Great Scoop idea. I need a new one. Extra large cookies are something I know my children would love.
so, did they eat the same number of cookies?? i can only imagine how much dough you could go through with that scoop!
