Four things I like about this picture:
First of all, the flash cards - not my idea. She persuaded me to buy them, and when I did she was so excited she said, "It's like it's my birthday!"
Second, the tongue.
Third, the candy necklace on a girl who doesn't like sticky things (she didn't eat it while it was on her body).
Fourth, the Fresca can with the orange juice cap. She poured orange juice into the pop can, maybe to pretend she was drinking pop? It is kind of ick that she pulled that unwashed can out of the recycling, but she was so proud to be *reusing*.

Oh, how I love that girl. I am just tickled pink we get to have her and Carmen for a week. You have no idea.
She has grown up so much in the past year. Just last year she was smiling with the felt button covers and her hand over her mouth.
You pointed out such great details. She's so darling.
I love how kids think learning is fun. I wish we could all have that enthusiasm.
The tongue is perfect.
I love how one picture tells so many stories. And that you are recording the little bits that make her her right now. She's so cute!
I love the tongue too, the concentration is magic. Flash cards=birthday. Aim high for Christmas!
Don't you just love it when one photo captures so much of a person. This really makes me miss her!
So cute. Love that she wanted flash cards...and I'm all about reusing..but taking it out of the recycling bin? How funny! She is darling.
That is so great!
Where are you going that Marie gets the girls for a week?? Oh girl's camp?
I love the real-life, personal magic of this photo as well.
That is so cute.. It's funny how kids stick their tongues out when they are doing something.. She is so cute..

I love it. Especially after all the details were noted.
"like my birthday" -- so sweet. I love that. Great pic.
What a wonderful snapshot of who she is right now -- such a perfect thing to record.

ellie usually has her tongue out while coloring
She is one smart girl. I love that one photo tells so much about her.
I love this picture and how it tells a lot about her!
She's adorable. I love the tongue. Both of my boys use theirs when they are thinking. Too cute.
I agree--what a fun photo and comments! I love the colorful shirt and the pretty candy necklace. I don't think my kids could wear it without eating it--no sticky issues for them (sadly). :)
This is the main reason that I am blogging. Capturing that moment that would otherwise be lost. What a great photo! And, I might add, you are totally stepping up a notch to reuse the cans! HA! I love that little juice cap on it!
