Flying High

How's this for Altius? I'm still flying high after my trip to Montreal and New York. Ken, Jaclyn and I had a great time together and enjoyed exploring the cities. I really need to get the blog on and write up our trip - starting with a self-portrait flying home:

I had to leave this photo uncropped. Perhaps not everyone is up with the self portrait thing?

My window seat didn't keep my attention for most of the flight. The higher you are the less there is to see.

But I did enjoy my window seat as we flew into Calgary. I love the quilted blocks of farmland that surround my city.

  1. It is always fun to capture other peoples faces in self-portraits. Calgary looks very beautiful.

  3. That's a great self-portrait, the woman behind you is so funny. It's weird to think about being a stranger in other people's photos, I think I was multiple times last week.

I also love how the ground looks like quilt blocks when seen from above!

  4. What a trip--it will be fun to hear about it!

I was snapping pictures on my flight to Utah--I'm sure my neighbors were wondering why--but who cares! :)

  7. Two of my most favorite cities in the world! I can't wait to hear, and just Jaclyn? Now I have to go back and reread if I missed the announcement of this trip. A vacation with a completely self sufficient almost adult to fabulous destinations! LUCKY!

Once again, you win for the perfect SPT, even if the airplane lady just doesn't get it.

  11. Love your photo and I don't think you can get much more "altius" than that! I am so impressed with your abilbity to capture yourself no matter who is looking on thinking, "Man, this lady is crazy!!!" I love the "bird's eye view" of the earth below!

  12. I'm sure that lady was thinking- "has she really never been on a plane before?" Because why else would you be taking a self-portrait. Some people are just missing out!
Love the scenery! Which I could see a little more of that around our area.

  16. As I've began taking self portraits this year it's funny to see the reaction of people around you! I've had several people approach me and say "I'll take that for you"..like why would you want to take your own picture?

    Love the farmland quilt.
